About Kira
Click apply to start the adoption process. Introducing Kira, a radiant one-eyed beauty with a heart as big as her personality. At approximately 5 years old, this female Australian Cattle Dog mix weighs about 48 lbs and embodies both resilience and loyalty. Spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm-negative, Kira is fully prepared for her forever home. Kira exudes calm, steady energy and maintains a low to moderate activity level—making her the perfect companion for relaxed afternoons or active mornings. She plays well with other dogs, showing no resource-guarding, and is quiet, crate-trained, leash-trained, and fully house trained. Intelligent, loyal, and eager to please, Kira responds brilliantly to positive reinforcement and forms deep bonds with her humans. She is confident around vets and caretakers, and delights in both play and solo exploration. Kira's ideal home includes an active adult or family with older children who can provide structure, companionship, and opportunities for regular exercise. She is a devoted “shadow dog” happiest joining you on hikes, jogs, or simply being part of daily life. A secure home with space to roam would suit her best. Found bravely wandering near Guadalajara after suffering an eye injury, Kira sought out the kindness she needed, underwent surgery, and emerged stronger—both physically and emotionally. Now fully healed, she has proven her resilience and warmth, ready to start her next chapter with a family who cherishes her indomitable spirit. Kira is currently in Mexico awaiting adoption with NorthWest Wag Rescue, hoping for a loving adopter willing to commit to a 10-day trial. Though she may have lost an eye, her loving nature and bright personality shine brighter than ever. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
