Meet Tilly! This sweet girl likes to give herself a moment to take in her surroundings before jumping right in. She is very social and wants to engage with people but sometimes she needs to do a little vibe check before opening up. She quickly caught on to the routines of shelter life and sometimes even steps right into the leash on her own when it's time to go out for her walks. Once outside, Tilly enjoys exploring at her own pace and staying close to her person, frequently checking in for reassurance and happily accepting pets along the way. She playfully rolls around in the grass, shaking off the stress of the day and just enjoying the simple things the world has to offer. Tilly knows basic commands such as sit and paw; she's also housebroken and crate trained! Because she naturally likes to be close to her people, she walks nicely on leash with minimal pulling, making her a steady walking companion. While she has shown a little interest in passing dogs, she did previously guard food from another dog in the home, and for this reason she will need to be the only pet in her new family. Tilly did well with older children but may not be comfortable around younger kids, so a home with older children (or adults only) will be the best fit for her. With time to settle in and a calm, consistent environment, Tilly has all the makings of a loyal and loving companion. Intake Reason: Owner Surrender due to behavioral concerns Additional Info: Tilly should be the only pet in her new home due to notes of her guarding food from the dog in her previous home. She should not go to a family with small or young children due to notes from her previous family about nervousness around small kids. This pet is up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Adoption hours are 12-5pm daily (arrive by 4:30) at 13800 Manor Road in Baldwin.
