About Robin

📌 PLEASE READ FIRST Robin is currently in South Korea and will fly to the U.S. on May 11 with a flight volunteer. To be considered, a complete written adoption application must be submitted first. 📝 Apply to Adopt Robin https://forms.gle/UmpfbgmydH7igSdN7 📸 More Photos & Videos (Google Album) https://photos.app.goo.gl/9ud8zCYMWVFCuxsL9 All approved adopters begin with a two-week trial and monitoring period to ensure a safe, thoughtful, and long-term match and that Robin’s needs and well-being are fully supported. 💛 Adoption Fee: $650 Includes neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip, veterinary exam, international health certificate, pre-departure veterinary care, and transportation to the U.S. Robin is a 2-year-old neutered male, about 20 kg (~44 lbs), with high energy and an incredibly social, playful personality. He was rescued alongside his brother Batman from an overcrowded municipal kill shelter in Korea. Batman has already found his forever home, and now it is Robin’s turn. Robin is the type of dog who genuinely loves life. He is affectionate, outgoing, athletic, and thrives when he has both physical activity and companionship. 🌿 Personality • Friendly and confident with new people • Affectionate and interactive without being overly clingy • Very smart, curious, and environmentally engaged • Happy, goofy, and playful personality • May excitedly greet people with brief jumping or “body bumping” 👨‍👩‍👧 With People & Children • Friendly with men and women alike • Enjoys attention from people of all ages • Generally ignores young children respectfully rather than overwhelming them • Best with people comfortable around a medium-large energetic dog 🐶 With Other Dogs • Very social and playful with dogs • Adjusts his play style based on the other dog • Can become slightly bossy with familiar dogs • Best not paired with highly dominant or confrontational dogs • With small dogs: playful and friendly, though continued impulse/strength control is important • Coexists peacefully with most dogs overall 🐱 With Cats • Will try to chase cats outside → not recommended for cat homes 🚶 Exercise & Walks • Walks and outdoor activity are extremely important for Robin’s well-being • Current routine: • Weekdays: 30–50 minute morning walk + 1–2 hour evening walk • Weekends: multiple outings including dog park time • Loves sniffing, exploring, running, and social interaction • Excellent leash manners overall (foster rates him ~9.5/10) • Needs regular physical and mental enrichment to stay balanced 🏠 Home Behavior • Calm indoors when properly exercised • Enjoys relaxing on the sofa or bed with family • Nearly 100% outdoor potty trained • Non-destructive when routine and structure are maintained • Extremely intelligent and curious — if left free-roaming while alone, he may investigate shelves, counters, or even learn how to open sliding doors 🧠 Separation Anxiety & Crate Training • Separation anxiety is present and should be taken seriously • Crating has been the most successful management tool and is strongly recommended when alone • Currently also supported with anxiety medication • When left alone crated, he may initially bark, howl, or try to escape • When people are home, he enters the crate willingly and relaxes calmly • Eats meals inside his crate and often goes in voluntarily at feeding time 👉 Important Robin needs a home where: • Someone is home often, OR • He can attend daycare, OR • He can accompany his person to work, OR • He is not routinely left alone for long hours He thrives with structure, consistency, companionship, and continued gradual independence training. 🍽 Diet & Health • Currently eating Hill’s Sensitive Stomach & Skin • No confirmed allergies • Eats enthusiastically and enjoys treats • Preventatives up to date (Heartgard 3/23, topical preventative 3/25) 🩺 Ear Care Note • Floppy ears prone to ear infections • Lifelong routine ear cleaning is important (common for floppy-eared dogs) 🚗 Car Rides • Excellent in the car • Jumps in on his own and settles comfortably 🛁 Grooming & Handling • Tolerates baths and brushing well • Nervous about nail trims but shows no aggression • Responsive and cooperative overall 🧸 Favorite Activities • Playing with dogs • Plush toys and interactive play • Running and outdoor adventures • Being involved in daily life with his people 🛟 What He Needs • Active home committed to daily walks and enrichment • Limited alone time • Consistent structure and ongoing training • Adopters willing to continue separation-anxiety management • Either as an only dog or with a socially appropriate companion dog 💬 The Reality Robin is not a low-maintenance dog. He is highly social, highly intelligent, and deeply people-oriented. Without proper exercise, structure, and management of his alone time, he can become anxious and restless. His needs are absolutely manageable, but they are important. 💛 Why Robin Robin is joyful, social, affectionate, and incredibly engaging. He wants to participate in life with his people and brings enthusiasm and warmth into everything he does. In the right home, he will be an exceptionally rewarding companion.
