About Joao

Joao was picked up as a stray in May and never reclaimed, so now he’s searching for a new family ready for an energetic companion. Volunteers say Joao is a playful, intelligent dog with a stubborn streak—he’ll benefit from a household that can keep him physically and mentally engaged and isn’t afraid to lay down some ground rules. He's just around 2 years old, about 61 lbs, and has already had his vaccines and a negative heartworm test. Joao’s quick to pick up commands when he wants, especially if treats are involved. While he may not be house trained, with patience and structure, he should catch on. Volunteers aren’t sure how he does with kids or other pets, so introductions to your current crew are a good idea. He’ll be neutered and microchipped when adopted. Joao is currently at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
