Meet Sugar, a six and a half year old Pit/Husky mix weighing 60 pounds. Sugar is as sweet as her name suggests—a gentle, loving girl who is trying her best to navigate a big life change. She was owner surrendered due to landlord issues, and while all the transition has left her a bit confused, her kind heart and soft spirit still shine through. Sugar has soft ears, a gentle nature, and a big desire to please her people. She already knows "sit," walks nicely on a leash, and is a true "good girl" who just wants reassurance and love. In her previous home, she was potty trained and would let you know when she needed to go out by staring at or even tapping the door. She loves snuggles just as much as she enjoys a fun game of tug-of-war, striking a great balance between affectionate and playful. Sugar does well with other dogs—especially smaller ones—and has also lived peacefully with cats. She has lived with kids as well and has shown she can be a gentle, family-friendly companion. Sugar is crate trained and generally does well with structure. She does tend to eat a little too quickly, so a slow feeder is a great tool for her. Confused but still so loving, Sugar is looking for a stable, patient home where she can settle in and finally feel safe again.
