About Chyna
Chyna is the Queen of the Couch and the longest resident at the shelter. She has quietly watched so many dogs come and go over the years, waiting for her own turn. Surrendered after being walked for miles in the summer heat, Chyna overcame a tough start and bounced back after heat stroke thanks to dedicated vet care. Since then, she's been spayed, treated for heartworms, and introduced to cozy luxuries—soft beds, belly rubs, and the staff's endless supply of snacks. Chyna craves having her own person and her own sofa most of all. She’s the type to offer plenty of pittie kisses, a wiggle butt that can't help but make you smile, and a signature, sometimes hilarious, smile of her own. She can be full of silly little quirks—she’s earned such affectionate nicknames as land manatee, sweet potato, cuddle bug, and couch hippo from those who love her. She does ask to be your one-and-only four-legged roommate, promising all the cuddles and love she has to give. Four years is too long for any dog to wait—Chyna is more than ready for her forever home and a real couch of her own. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Chyna
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chyna, as a pit bull terrier/mixed breed, tends to be happiest in a home with a steady routine and plenty of human companionship. She would especially thrive as an only pet where she can soak up all the attention.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A large breed like Chyna enjoys access to a secure yard or regular walks, but she’s just as happy lounging indoors on the couch with her favorite humans.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Pit bull terrier mixes like Chyna can be wonderful with children when well-socialized, but every individual is different. Always supervise interactions between large dogs and young kids.
