About Dandelion

Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Dandelion đŸŒŒ This 60 lb pittie/American bulldog mix is the definition of resilience and quiet strength. Dandelion’s story didn’t start easy—she was rescued on the streets of Detroit in heartbreaking condition, suffering from life-threatening infections and painful entropion that left her eyes swollen shut. When found, she had found brief shelter from a storm in an abandoned garage, as if hope was slipping away. Her rescuers saw her gentle soul and gave her a second chance at life. With safety and care, everything changed for Dandelion. Today, her past is behind her and she is thriving, radiating gratitude for warmth, comfort, and kindness. She is loving, gentle, and simply cherishes the simple pleasures of life—a cozy couch, a kind hand, and the sense of being home. Her desperate days are over, and she is eager to start the happiest chapter yet: finding a family to call her own. Dandelion currently lives peacefully with other dogs, as well as a cat. She draws confidence and comfort from canine friends and truly loves having a furry sibling—she would thrive most in a home with another dog. Her manners in her foster home are impeccable; she is fully house-trained with no accidents, and she bonds easily with all people but especially adores men—a true “dad’s girl” in need of a steady, gentle companion. Her past has left some shadows—she struggles with separation anxiety, so a home where people are present much of the time will help her flourish. While she is currently around children, sudden movements and high energy can make her anxious; a quieter home with older kids, or no children, is ideal so she can feel secure and content. At just two years old, Dandelion has already overcome so much. She is waiting patiently for someone to show her what forever feels like. Like her namesake, she is fragile yet determined, and hoping for her wish to come true with the perfect family. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to go home. If you’re ready to welcome a loving, resilient companion, Dandelion is waiting. As a fun fact, since Dandelion was born on April 1, her sun sign is Aries, known for its courage and bright spirit—two things she truly embodies. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
