About Poppy
Poppy is a uniquely marked, white and gray small dog with one black-lashed eye and one with white, making her completely unforgettable at first glance. At just 12 lbs and around 3 years old, her breed is part Lhasa Apso, part Maltese, part mystery—her coat was shaved before rescue, so her true look remains to be seen. She came into care after being hit by a car and left roadside, but with the help of a good Samaritan and a fast-moving rescue, she’s on the mend from a broken pelvis and expected to fully recover by mid-May. For now, Poppy’s keeping mostly to cage rest, so her personality’s still unfolding—yet it’s clear she has energy to burn. Even when not fully healed, she tries to play and run, gives liberal kisses, and craves companionship. She doesn’t enjoy crate time alone, but otherwise settles into a happy, fairly quiet presence. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and needs a canine friend in her new home. Poppy will thrive with an active person or family, not in a senior home, and she wants someone ready to spoil her as a full-time companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
