Meet the lovely Ms. Samantha, or Sammi for short! Though her previous owners claimed she's a purebred Lhasa Apso, some say she resembles a Shih Tzu. At 10 years old, she lost her 94-year-old mom and now needs a new loving home. Weighing about 12 lbs and displaying a charming tri-color coat, Sammi is adjusting to life outside her sheltered existence. With gentle walks and outdoor bathroom breaks now part of her routine, she's gradually embracing new experiences and letting her personality shine. Once Sammi trusts you, she becomes a very affectionate dog who loves to snuggle. You'll often find her sleeping behind your head or nestled into pillows on the couch, listening to your heartbeatāa comforting habit she has developed. Sammi can be a bit sassy at times but is mostly reactive rather than aggressive. After dealing with prior health issues like an ear infection and a UTI, she enjoys ear rubs and has perked up quite a bit. Although she sleeps a lot and isnāt very playful, she is starting to explore, follow you around, and indulge in new foods. Her adorable grunts when getting attention are just one of her many charms. Sammi is looking for an active and mature home where she can thrive and receive the love she has so much to give.
