About Ethel

Start your journey together! Apply now. Spring is here, and with kitten season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to open your heart and home to a deserving companion! Meet Ethel, a gentle and loving brown tabby domestic short hair hoping to find her forever family through Griffith Animal Control and Treasured Friends Rescue in Northwest Indiana. Because so many new feline moms and kittens are arriving this season, adopting Ethel means you’re not only saving her life but also creating space for another cat in need! Ethel’s journey hasn’t always been easy—she came from a home with too many kitties and hasn’t experienced all the love she deserves. Despite her rough start, Ethel is endlessly affectionate and welcomes every pet and bit of attention with gratitude. She’s a playful, people-oriented girl who’s been waiting patiently for her special someone. Ethel does have chronic upper respiratory “sniffles,” so she’ll need extra vet care and a family who can keep her feeling her best, but she makes up for it with heaps of charm and affection! Ethel is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and wants to be an indoor-only kitty. She enjoys spending time with other cats and is open to living with older children as well. Shelter staff have generously waived her adoption fee to help her find that perfect loving home. They kindly ask adopters to be experienced or patient, as a little extra time and understanding will help Ethel settle in beautifully. Visit the shelter to see if Ethel is your match! By adopting her, you’re not just changing her life, but making room for countless other cats and kittens to find their happy endings. She can’t wait to meet you! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
