About Teal

Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. The holidays bring a chill to the air, and for so many cats and kittens, it’s a reminder of how much a warm home can change a life. There are so many deserving cats waiting for a cozy spot to call their own, and every adoption opens up space for one more life to be saved from the cold. Please consider making room in your heart and home, and encourage your friends to do the same—adopting truly saves two lives! Meet Teal! This domestic short-haired black 'MiniPanther' is a neutered male, about 3 years old, and currently living at Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Highland Northwest Indiana. Teal is up to date on his shots and is looking for an indoor-only home. He’s a gentle, reserved soul who’s been waiting for over a year for the right person to notice him. Teal is the epitome of a shy, introverted friend who truly blossoms in quiet, patient surroundings. While he may be timid at first—preferring the safety of his cage—Teal adores gentle pets, loves to roll around with soft meows and purrs, and is playful when he feels safe. He enjoys the company of other gentle cats and loves quiet companionship, but the bustle of the shelter can be overwhelming for him. Teal would thrive in a peaceful, adult home, ideally with a friendly resident cat to help him gain confidence. He is not feral—never aggressive, just scared—and with time, understanding, and love, he promises to be a devoted, affectionate companion who will make all the patience worth it. Teal’s story is like so many lost pets who just need a second chance to trust and feel safe. If you know what it’s like to value calm, quiet, and gentle connection, Teal may be your perfect match. You are invited to schedule an appointment with Griffith Animal Control to visit Teal in his own special room, where you can start getting to know him in a low-stress environment. The rescue’s volunteers are ready to offer tips and support to help you help Teal blossom into his best self. If you can offer patience, a gentle heart, and a forever home, Teal is waiting for his hero. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
