Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Happy New Year! While the seasons may change, cats like Gala are still searching for loving homes. As kitten season approaches, rescues work hard to make space for more feline friends, especially loving older residents who deserve a second chance. Adopting a cat like Gala not only brings joy to your home but opens up space to save even more lives—a true win-win. Meet Gala! This charming black domestic short-haired fellow is about three years old, neutered, and has all his vaccinations up to date. Gala is an indoor-only cat and is looking for a forever home through Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Highland, Northwest Indiana. If you’ve ever longed for your very own “baker,” Gala is your guy! He’s an expert biscuit maker, kneading with enthusiasm and love, eager to fill your life with cozy affection. Outside, Gala once struggled just to survive, but now that he’s safe, fed, and cared for indoors, his special “biscuits” are always on the menu. All Gala asks for is a warm home where he’ll receive love, regular meals, playtime, and lots of pets. He may get along with another kitty after a proper introduction and would likely be fine with gentle older children. He enjoys a quiet environment where his secret biscuit recipe can truly shine! Gala currently spends time in his own room at the shelter, where you can schedule a visit and get to know him personally. The rescue’s dedicated volunteers work with a wide variety of cats, helping even the shy or unsocialized ones learn to trust—some may need extra time and patience in their new home. For Gala and others like him, experienced adopters who understand the commitment can truly make a difference in their lives. Come meet Gala—he’s ready for his “interview” and to become your loyal, loving companion. Make their next chapter their best one yet. Griffith Animal Control, in partnership with Treasured Friends Animal Rescue, gives every kitty a fair shot at love. Their fosters and volunteers provide shy cats extra socialization and support, setting them up for happy new lives. Some cats need more patience and understanding as they settle into a new home; adopters are encouraged to be experienced and committed to making the transition a true success. Thank you for making a difference!
