About Apollo

Apollo came to rescue from a situation where over 100 Great Pyrenees were found living in poor conditions, and he was among the toughest cases. Years on a chain left their mark, but you’d hardly know it seeing the progress he’s made lately. He’s a quiet, gentle soul who bonds strongly, especially with women—his foster mom is his whole world. While other people are fine, she’s the one who gets his trust and affection. Neighbor dogs took some getting used to; Apollo is sensitive to barking and still wary of confrontational canines. He’ll need a home where even the neighbor dogs are calm or friendly, and where life isn’t too chaotic. Inside, he’s completely house trained and reliable from day one. Out on the leash, he’s easy—never a struggle. Apollo handles children with polite respect, but lots of kid energy overwhelms him, so homes with older kids or adults only would suit him best. A patient adopter who understands how dogs from hoarding backgrounds need time and predictability will help Apollo thrive. A gentle, confident female dog could be a good companion; he enjoys calm playdates. Apollo is currently fostered in Utah and continues to grow every week. Click apply to start the adoption process.
