About Albi
Albi is a guardian through and through—a big, committed protector who takes his role seriously. This Great Pyrenees/Akbash mix nearly lost his life for simply doing what comes naturally to him: keeping his home and people safe. He thrives in a home that recognizes and values his watchdog instincts. Albi enjoys couch time but also likes patrolling the property, making sure everything is in order. He bonds deeply with his people and is incredibly loyal. Albi gets along with other dogs given proper introductions and has lived in his foster home for over a year. He’s formed a close bond with Savannah, and the rescue is seeking someone willing to adopt the pair together. Albi is learning leash manners and enjoys his walks, though he can pull at times. He’s wary of cars and will chase them, so he absolutely needs a home set back far from any roads. With cats, he may be possible with patient, slow introductions, but he will chase if they run. There’s been real progress in working on his food aggression, but separate feeding is still safest. Albi is house trained and neutered, and his vaccinations are up to date. This is a dog for someone who appreciates devotion and wants top-tier security—and is willing to make the commitment he deserves. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
