About Stryker
Stryker, affectionately called Ryker by his foster mom, was one of several sweet dogs rescued from a hoarding situation. Since coming into foster care, he's taken big steps forward—his confidence has grown, and his gentle nature shines through. Stryker loves playing with his canine foster sister and has even started warming up to the cats in his home. Because of his background, he’s skilled on a leash and fully house trained, making him easy to care for day-to-day. Stryker has been treated for a skin condition affecting his nose; the issue is responding well to treatment, and he keeps looking healthier every week. His foster parent reports he is smart, affectionate, and content to lounge as a lovable couch potato. Stryker has discovered his voice and doesn’t mind letting people know he’s around—true to his Great Pyrenees roots. Kids make him nervous, so a home with older teens or adults suits him best. Patience and understanding from his new family will help him continue to blossom. Stryker is ready for someone who understands that dogs from difficult backgrounds come with quirks, but also heaps of potential. He’s hoping for a kind, steady home in Bountiful, UT. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
