Peggy had a wonderful first night in her new foster home. She slept quietly in her crate and has been doing great with potty training. She is an excellent lap snuggler and loves to give smooches. Peggy is settling in nicely and looks forward to a life of love. Peggy is an adorable Chihuahua/Pug, approximately 9 pounds and around a year old. Six small female dogs were living in a crummy outdoor kennel and all were either pregnant or soon to be pregnant. We agreed to take all six in order to stop the cycle of reproduction and had planned to spay/abort immediately if possible. With the devastating overpopulation crisis, and so many unwanted puppies already born and breathing and waiting without hope, it's truly the kindest thing. One little mama actually delivered before getting on transport. She will raise her family in love and comfort in her Dogwood foster home, and then she and pups will be spayed/neutered and placed in loving homes, as will the other girls.
