PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally. Meet Mae Mae! Mae Mae is approximately 2 years old, 7 lb currently, and may have some Mini Dachshund in her mix. In her foster home, she is working hard on her house training, crate-training, and leash walking. She could join households with teenagers and other dogs. No cats or apartments please! She is scared of men. Her foster says, "Mae Mae is a typical small lap dog. She follows me everywhere I go. She wants to be in my lap all the time. She sleeps in her crate at night and sleeps all through the night. She will also cuddle with you in the bed (she burrows under the covers and lays right against your legs) but I crate her at night so I do not roll over on her. Mae Mae LOVES toys and balls! She warms up to women very quickly but is scared of men. She will bark at men. If I am holding her, men can pet her and touch her and she will not snap, but you can tell she is uncomfortable with them touching her. Mae Mae would make a great companion for someone looking fora velcro little dog. Mae Mae gets along well with all my dogs (I have a 12 lb female chiweenie, a 30 lb female beagle, and a 65 lb 12 year old female Golden Ret Mix). She and my chiweenie like to play sometimes and chase each other around." She is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on May 22nd or possibly earlier.
