PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally. Meet Roadie! Roadie is approximately 4 months old, 28 lb currently, and he is a Pit Mix! Roadie was found with a broken jaw and needed surgery to repair it, but is now doing extremely well. He will need one more surgery in MA which Brown Dog will schedule and pay for. In his foster home, he is working hard on his house training, crate-training, and leash walking. He could join households with kids 5+ and other dogs. He has not been exposed to cats. His foster says, "Roadie fit right into our crazy household right out of the gate! He never missed a beat so I feel like he’ll easily adapt and fit into someone else’s home! I have all sizes of dogs and he’s done so well with them all. He also takes correction from our olderSheperd who is the “fun police”! Roadie plays with my cats and chases them but in a very playful way. He also takes correction well from them! Roadie rides incredibly well and is always ready to go! He has gone back and forth with me to work while he’s been healing. He has stayed behind the front desk, he’s helped me take care of cats, and laid in a dog bed quietly at intake with me. He follows me wherever I go and comes when called. He will easily go in a crate for treats but we don’t crate him often. He sleeps quietly all night in the bed with us (and other dogs and cats) with no accidents. If I get him outside immediately he has no accidents when we get up. As long as I let him out every few hours he doesn’t have accidents. He does not chew on things he’s not supposed to, he knows what “no” means, and even responds to me snapping fingers for correction!! Roadie is the perfect mix of playful puppy and cuddle bunny!! He’s the WHOLE puppy package! He’s outgoing, friendly, smart, loving, and will be an incredibly loyal friend to you for the rest of his life." He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on May 11th.
