About Xander

When Xander showed up at his foster home, you’d never guess he’d spent months stuck in a shelter. He’s the kind of dog who chooses to stay sweet, calm, and well-mannered despite setbacks—an easy companion in every sense. Xander has settled quickly, whether that’s claiming a cozy spot under the desk or quietly tagging along in the car. He’s a shepherd/hound mix, around 5-6 years old and about 55 lbs, with a sturdy, short black and tan coat. Xander gets along well with other dogs and is fine living with another canine buddy (ideally 40 lbs or over), but he’s equally content as the only dog. He’s crate-trained, doesn’t have accidents as long as he gets regular outdoor breaks, and prefers leisurely strolls through the yard on nice days—he’ll need a fenced yard for that reason. While he loves people and is good with children, Xander does not get along with cats. He comes neutered and fully vetted, including all vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. He’s ready for a home that appreciates a mellow, loyal pal who’s put his shelter days behind him. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
