About Riggs

Your new best friend is just one click away. Riggs is a large, neutered male Pit Bull Terrier who has quickly won over everyone he meets with his sweet and easygoing nature. Described by his foster as "an easy keeper," Riggs is fully potty trained, kennel trained, and quick to pick up on routines—he's even known to head straight to the door when he needs to go outside and wait patiently for his meals. While originally coming in for a short kennel break, he blended seamlessly into his foster home, getting along perfectly with three resident female dogs of differing ages and personalities. His interactions with new canine friends have been polite and adaptive, showing that he’s a well-mannered companion who enjoys playtime and relaxation in equal measure. Riggs adores snuggling, true to his pittie roots, and will not hesitate to crawl right onto your lap or snuggle up like a burrito under a blanket on the couch. He is also known for his loud and endearing snore! Walks are a highlight for Riggs, and he is routine-oriented—knowing exactly when it’s time for a stroll. He walks well on a leash, though he gets excited when he spots another dog, but responds well to treat-motivated training. He is also smart and curious, picking up on commands like "sit," "down," "heel," "stay," and especially "kennel." Car rides and outings are a breeze with Riggs, as he settles in quietly and is not reactive to new sights or experiences. In public, he meets other people and dogs with excellent manners. Riggs thrives in a home without cats, as he tested best in environments without feline friends. He does show some prey drive toward small animals like rabbits during walks. All in all, Riggs’s loving demeanor, adaptability, and intelligence make him the perfect companion for a family looking for a big-hearted dog. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
