About Mahina
Mahina is a gentle, medium-sized Pit Bull Terrier with a sensitive heart and a deep need for a patient, understanding family. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and currently takes daily and situational medication for anxiety and fear. She thrives in a steady, low-key home with at least one other dog for support—her confidence truly builds when she’s able to follow a canine friend. Once she feels at ease, her playful and silly side comes out: you’ll catch her doing zoomies, enjoying couch snuggles, and soaking up affection, especially from women in the family. Mahina is house and kennel trained, responds well to routines, and walks nicely on a leash, though she sometimes needs encouragement to keep going outside. She can be shy and cautious, especially around new people or men, but she warms up with time and kindness. Her foster notes that she’s good with children, as long as they give her space and let her approach in her own time. She also lived with cats before and does well with canine housemates. A calm environment with minimal visitors is best, and existing dog friends in the home are a must. Mahina makes progress every day, but she needs adopters committed to moving at her pace. Once settled, she’s a low-maintenance, loyal companion whose affection and trust are hard-won and totally worth it. Click apply to start the adoption process.
