About Hot Cocoa
Hot Cocoa is a 6-year-old, 12-pound Yorkie mix with a knack for making herself at home. She gets along with other dogs and kids over 10, and she’s both pee pad trained and housebroken if kept on a schedule. She thrives with a secure, fenced yard for safe outdoor time and enjoys walks on a harness and leash. Sweet, affectionate, and always ready for a cuddle, Hot Cocoa wants to be with her people as much as possible. Once she feels settled in a new environment, her playful side shines and she’ll dash around with energy. She is known to jump over gates, so anything used to contain her should be at least 4 feet high. This little dog is motivated by food and can eat fast, so she’ll need a slow-feed bowl. Hot Cocoa needs a home where someone is around most of the time—she shouldn’t be left alone for long stretches. A family willing to let her sleep in their bed, provide structure and consistency, and continue her training is a must. Her foster insists on these requirements, so please apply only if your household fits the bill. Local applicants to Cherry Hill, NJ are prioritized so proper home checks and meet-and-greets can be done. Give her a quiet start in your home for the first couple weeks so she can fully settle and bond with you. Hot Cocoa had some mild dry skin when she arrived but is improving with daily coconut oil. She’s now spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
