Shepherd Lovers Meet Canela Canela is a beautiful 6-year-old German Shepherd who is looking for a new place to call home. Due to a change in her owners work situation, Canela was spending long hours alone outside in the backyard. She loves people so much that, in her search for new friends, she started jumping the 4-foot fence and wandering the neighborhood. Thankfully, a kind neighbor brought her in to keep her safe. Her owner has made the decision to surrender her so she can find a family that can spend time with her. Canela loves people! She is a very smart dog with a ton of energy, and loves to cuddle! She has interacted with neighborhood kids, but has not lived with kids. She does well with other dogs with slow, proper introductions as she appears to be an alpha female. She is NOT cat-friendly, so a cat-free home is required. Her current foster family has 5 rescue cats so they are unable to keep her. Canela has been calm and non-destructive when left alone for periods of time. She rides well in the car, walks nicely on a leash, loves to run around a fenced in back yard, and is a sucker for stuffed animals! .We are currently looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home for this sweet girl so she can start her next chapter.
