About Tori
Tori is a nearly 10-year-old German Shepherd mix with a strong, funny personality and years of wisdom under her belt. She’s a smart, intuitive senior who learns words just by listening and once surprised her foster by teaching herself the meaning of "cross" just from a conversation on a walk. Tori loves going for strolls, rolling on grass, and keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood from her favorite window. She entertains herself with her stuffed bear and squeaky tennis balls, and takes her unofficial job as neighborhood watch quite seriously. Tori has perfect house manners—she never chews or has accidents and sees no need for a crate. While she’s sweet and affectionate, it’s important that her adopter respects her boundaries and understands that attention needs to happen on her terms. She thrives with daily play and exercise but prefers to be the only pet in the home, as she does not get along with other dogs or cats. She’s not a fit for apartments, homes with children, or households looking for a social butterfly. Tori dislikes baths, roughhousing, or surprises from new people, but really shines when given routine, respect, and space to show her goofy side. Although she came into rescue with a liver condition, her health is currently stable with medication, which she’ll need to continue. If you’re looking for a low-drama companion who will quietly keep you company, chase a ball, and amuse you with her cleverness, Tori might be the senior sidekick you didn’t know you needed.
