About Great Pyrenees Dogs

Great Pyrenees are majestic, white-coated guardian dogs bred for centuries to protect flocks in the Pyrenees Mountains. They are calm, patient, and deeply loyal, with a gentle nature that belies their imposing size. Their thick, weatherproof coat and regal bearing are stunning.

Adopting a Great Pyrenees means gaining a gentle guardian who is devoted to protecting their family. They are wonderful with children, patient with other animals, and surprisingly mellow indoors. Their independent thinking and nighttime barking reflect their guardian heritage.

Health notes: Prone to hip dysplasia, bloat, and patellar luxation. Their nocturnal barking is a natural guardian behavior. Regular grooming of their thick coat is necessary.
