Newton
AvailableNewton is a large, adult male Great Pyrenees/Mixed Breed located in Fairfax, VA. He is neutered and his vaccinations are current. Newton is house trained and, at 5 years and 4 months old, is looking for a supportive home to continue building his confidence.
About Newton
Newton started out nervous but has come a long way in his foster home. Heโs now open to chin scratches and belly rubs after a slow introduction, and his confidence keeps growing. He enjoys backyard zoomies and ball chasing, so a secure fenced yard will be essential for his safety and happiness. Newton is house trained, sleeps quietly in his kennel through the night, and is fine being left alone without anxiety. Treats are taken with soft manners, and he knows basic commands like sit, stay, and wait, even waiting for a release word before proceeding. Leash walks go smoothly in neighborhoods and on trails, though heโll need a little more work on pulling. His thick coat sheds annually and heโll happily stand for a good wire brush session. With other dogs, he does well once properly introduced and could benefit from a confident canine friend. Newton isnโt aggressive; if worried, he simply backs off until he feels ready. He needs a patient home ready to continue his training and help him gain more confidence. When you finally meet Newton, you might wonder how you ever lived without him. What are you waiting for?
