About Newton

Click apply to start the adoption process. When Newton first arrived at the rescue, he was a very shy dog. Thanks to dedicated care in his foster home, he has made remarkable progress! Newton is now much more comfortable with new people, and after a gentle introduction, he will eagerly seek out chin scratches and belly rubs. He loves spending time outdoors, especially running and chasing a ball in the backyard, so a secure, fenced yard is a must to let him safely enjoy his zoomies and exercise. Newton is housetrained, sleeps peacefully in his kennel at night, and does not experience separation anxiety. He barks occasionally but settles down quickly. This lovable dog takes treats gently and knows basic commands, such as "sit," "stay," "wait," and understands to wait for cues before proceeding. Newton enjoys neighborhood and trail walks and walks well on a leash most of the time, though he would benefit from a bit more training to minimize occasional pulling. His beautiful coat sheds just once a year, and he happily lets you brush him to keep things tidy. Newton gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction and would do best with a confident canine companion in the home. He is gentle, not at all aggressive, and prefers to withdraw and gain comfort at his own pace when faced with new or intimidating situations. With support and patience, Newton is eager to keep exploring, experiencing new things, and welcoming new friends. He’s searching for a loving family ready to help him continue building confidence through training and socialization. Newton is sure to win your heart at first sight—make sure you don’t miss your chance to meet him! As a Capricorn, Newton may surprise you with his resilience, loyalty, and determination as he learns and grows. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
