Walter was found in a known dumping area in the greater Houston area alongside another dog, left in an unsafe place where dogs are often abandoned. Thankfully, he is now safe in foster care and ready to find the loving home he deserves. Walter is truly the total package. This short, stumpy, fun little low rider (Corgi/Pit mix) has a calm, happy personality and is incredibly easy to care for. He loves tennis balls, playing fetch like a pro, belly rubs, and curling up in bed with his people. Walter is fully potty trained, crate trained, and walks great on a leash. He knows commands like “sit” and even “sit pretty,” and he’s always eager to please. He does wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids and enjoys car rides just as much as relaxing at home. Whether you’re looking for a walking buddy or a couch companion, Walter is happy to do both. He truly is a “Mr. Steal Your Heart” kind of dog. Walter is heartworm positive, which is common among strays in the South. The good news is that he is completing treatment and is on his way to being heartworm negative soon.
