Rowdy is a 3.5 to 4-year-old Basset Hound who has already experienced significant loss and change in his life. After his original owner passed away, Rowdy remained in the home with a family member. Unfortunately, that individual later moved away and left Rowdy behind to fend for himself. Despite this difficult history, Rowdy has maintained a gentle, affectionate, and easygoing personality. He is now safe in the care of Scout’s Street Smart Rescue and is ready to find a stable and loving forever home. Rowdy has been fully vetted. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, fecal tested, current on preventatives, and has received a dental cleaning. He weighs approximately 36 pounds and is fully grown. He is a typical Basset Hound with a laid-back and friendly temperament. Rowdy enjoys being close to his people and prefers to stay within sight, simply content being nearby. He is not anxious or overly dependent, but naturally seeks out companionship and enjoys being part of everyday life. He also loves to snuggle and relax with his people. Rowdy gets along well with other dogs, is house trained and crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Rowdy is currently traveling to Pennsylvania, where he will be placed in a foster home while awaiting adoption. He would do best in a home that can provide consistency, companionship, and a commitment to keeping him as a permanent member of the family.
