Meet Tiki, also known as Taco, a 2-year-old dachshund and border terrier mix who is equal parts snuggle bug, comedian, and playful sidekick. Just like your favorite taquito, he is packed with personality and guaranteed to bring a little extra flavor to your life. Tiki is the kind of dog who makes every day more fun, whether he is zooming around the house in a game of chase or suddenly launching himself into your lap for a surprise cuddle. And yes, he will stick the landing with those tiny determined toes. Tiki is a social guy who genuinely enjoys the company of others. He is friendly with adult humans, loves playing with dogs of all sizes, and can even coexist with cats. If a cat is calmly lounging, he is happy to politely sniff and move on. If they start sprinting or jumping, he gets excited and may bark, so a home with confident or dog-savvy cats would be the best match. He has a playful, athletic side and absolutely loves toys, fetch, and a good round of chase. His favorite activity might just be playing with his giant puppy foster sister, especially when they get into hilarious tug-of-war matches that show off their size difference. After playtime, he is more than happy to settle down and soak up affection as your devoted lap dog. Tiki is already leash trained and crate trained, and he is a smart little guy who picks things up quickly. He is still working on potty training and will need a patient home to help him stay consistent. He can also be vocal when people come to the door or when he hears noises outside, so continued training will help him channel that enthusiasm. He has bursts of high energy balanced with relaxed downtime, making him a great fit for a home that enjoys both play and snuggles. They arrive in Minnesota on 05/01/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.
