AvailableAbout Junior
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Junior is a 2-year old Daschund that weighs about 11-12 lbs. He just came to us from Tijuana, and is just settling into a foster home. Junior came to us very apprehensive and we were told he could nip defensively when scared. So far Junior has not nipped, but we haven't pushed his thresholds too far. We are just letting him feel the stability of settling in to a comfortable setting first. He is getting the message he has consistent meals and care, can go in and outside at will, when he needs to, and has a safe place to take a nap, or sleep, etc. So far, so good. Junior is responding so well. He is letting down and trusting more and more, seeking, responding. He does seem cheered by the presence of other dogs. Often the timid dogs blossom the most with other dogs. Right now we are considering a home with another dog for him. If you do not have another dog, we still could assess, depending on how much progress we feel he is making. We also offer foster to adopt, if you seem like the right fit for the dog. Junior is very precious. You can tell he wants to trust and love. He allows petting all over his body and likes to be near his caretaker, those are great signs! Junior is working on on housetraining. As long as someone can let him outside frequently, praise him, follow other dogs, etc. we think he will conquer this in no time.
