Meet Calvin, the Cattledog Calvin is a smart, affectionate, approximately one-year-old Australian Cattledog, weighing about 40 lbs. He was initially a stray, spent time in a shelter, was placed by ACDRA with a foster owner for a few weeks, and then went home with a foster family of retirees. At that time, Calvin was about 25 pounds and it was believed that he was two years old. As it turned out, however, Calvin was still a puppy and has since almost doubled in size. His current foster family doesn’t have a fenced-in yard and they are finding it difficult to give him as much activity as he needs. They believe he would be better off at a home where there is more room for him to run. Calvin is very sweet and a fast learner See the videos below of Calvin doing a few tricks. He is fully housebroken, very treat-motivated, and highly trainable. He loves chewing on toys and Nylabones, going on walks, and chasing a ball. When outside without a leash he does a great job of staying with us (but since he lives in a busy suburban area in DC, he doesn’t get to spend much time off-leash). He loves playing with other dogs, loves snuggling with his foster family, and sleeps peacefully through the night. Calvin is neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations and preventatives.
