Roxy is a young, large mixed-breed girl with German Shepherd and Doberman Pinscher in her background. She is house trained, vaccinated, and has special needs related to her past injuries and trauma, so she’ll need a bit of extra support in her new home. Located in Locust Grove, GA, Roxy is looking for a family that will appreciate her playful, loving nature and commit to her ongoing well-being.

About Roxy

Roxy is goofy and full of life, always ready to play or share her big heart. She’s bounced back from a rough start—after being found injured on the side of the road, Roxy went through surgeries for a broken shoulder, femur, tail, and even her back. Thanks to determined vets, she’s now thriving, but some PTSD remains from what she’s been through. Patience and support from a committed home will help her continue to gain confidence and feel safe. Roxy enjoys people of all ages and truly adores kids, though she sometimes gets a little jumpy when excited, so little ones may not be the best fit. She’s happiest with another playful dog around and would love a canine sibling. Roxy gets along with cats—though it’s more of a one-way friendship. There’s a medical note: because of her injuries and her age, she can’t be spayed until she’s at least one year old; her adopters will need to provide proof of spay when the time is right. Her resilience stands out, as does her loving and upbeat spirit. She needs adopters within about 150 miles of Locust Grove, GA, but exceptions are possible in special situations.
