Roxy is a goofy, silly girl with a huge heart and an even bigger love for life. All she really wants is someone to love her and a buddy to play with—she’s happiest when she’s being her playful, joyful self. Her story hasn’t been an easy one. Roxy was found on the side of the road in the rain after being hit by a vehicle, suffering multiple serious injuries including a broken shoulder, tail, femur, and even a break in her back. Thanks to the incredible team at Auburn University, she received life-saving surgery and care—and today, she’s doing amazingly well. Because of what she’s been through, Roxy does have some lingering PTSD, but she continues to grow more confident every day. She’ll need a patient, understanding home that will support her as she continues to heal and thrive, especially as she gets older. Roxy absolutely loves people and is wonderful with kids, though she can be a bit jumpy when she gets excited, so a home without very small children would be best. She also loves cats... unfortunately, the feeling isn’t always mutual. She would truly shine in a home with another friendly, playful dog who can be her companion. Due to her injuries and breed, Roxy cannot be spayed until she is at least one year old to allow her body to grow as strong as possible. Her future family will need to provide proof of spay when the time comes. Roxy has been through so much, but she hasn’t let it dim her spirit. She’s resilient, loving, and ready to find a home that will cherish her just as much as she’ll cherish them.
