Pomelo is a 3-year-old Long-Haired Dachshund mix with a story that’s equal parts mystery and luck. Found as a stray, she waited patiently for someone to come looking for her—but no one ever did. We truly can’t imagine why. One look at her flowing, golden coat (seriously, it’s straight out of a fairytale), and you’ll be just as puzzled as we are. Her name fits her perfectly. Like the sweet, tropical citrus fruit she’s named after, Pomelo is bright, cheerful, and impossible not to love. She thrives on human connection and will happily do just about anything to earn your attention. In fact, she’s never met a stranger—everyone is a friend in her eyes. As long as her people are nearby, she’s content and glowing with happiness. Pomelo’s one “flaw”? She can be a bit vocal—but only because she’s so eager to express her love and excitement. Think of it as her way of making sure you never forget how much she adores you. Toys don’t really interest her much—she’d much rather spend her time soaking up affection and making new human friends. While she’s more people-focused than dog-focused, she coexists peacefully with other dogs and does just fine with cats. She’s also potty-trained and crate-trained, making her an easy addition to just about any home. Pomelo would do wonderfully in a family looking for a sweet, affectionate, perfectly sized companion with both beauty and personality.
