Meet Karmine ?? Karmine is a 9-year-old Redbone Coonhound who is just beginning to experience what life is supposed to feel like... and it’s both beautiful and heartbreaking. For most of his life, Karmine didn’t get to be a dog. He was kept kenneled, without the chance to explore the world, feel the grass under his paws, or form the kind of bond every dog deserves. On top of that, he lived for years in pain from untreated double entropion—something no animal should ever have to endure. When Karmine first came to us, he was shut down and untouchable. The world was unfamiliar and overwhelming. But slowly, with time and care, he’s started to change. Now, Karmine looks forward to going outside. He’s learning how to walk on a leash. And the most incredible part—he’s beginning to seek out affection. The same dog who once couldn’t be touched is now quietly asking for love. Karmine still has a long road ahead. He needs a patient, understanding home—someone who truly knows and respects the hound breed and is willing to work with him consistently as he continues to learn what it means to be safe, to trust, and to just be a dog.
