About Aiko
Aiko is a glossy, lively, fun-loving Shepherd mix with a striking black and tan coat, about one and a half years old, and around 48 pounds. Sheās all about her people, home, favorite toys, and the thrill of a good game of fetch in her yard. Previously abandoned on a balcony, she survived a rough startāincluding a bout of pneumoniaābefore finding safety and care. These early hardships left her wary of other animals, so she needs to be the only pet in the home, ideally with a fenced yard to call her own. Aiko does best with a familiar routine and her trusted family. She knows basic commands, like sit and paw, and responds well to calm, positive trainingāespecially at home. Walks get her amped up, and she tends to bark when spotting other dogs, so she isnāt suited for dog parks or daycare settings. Instead, she thrives in a home that will invest time in her continued confidence-building and training. Sheās housebroken, crate-trained, and mindfully well-behaved indoors. Playing ball could keep her happy all day. Sheās now healthy, spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, with all vetting and preventatives up to date. Aiko is being fostered in Chicago. Think you can offer her that loving, structured home sheās been waiting for? Make their next chapter their best one yet.
