About Nina Simone
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Nina Simone arrived at the rescue in May 2024 after being surrendered to animal control when her previous owner could no longer care for her. She is a two-year-old German Shepherd Dog who happens to be a tri-paw—missing one leg—but she doesn't let that slow her down at all. Nina weighs about 50 lbs and navigates stairs, hops into cars, and enjoys her walks with confidence and ease. Her ideal home will be one where she can soak up all the love as the only pet. Nina is fully housebroken, crate trained, and has made excellent progress in learning to relax in her crate. She absolutely adores toys and loves to proudly show them off. With her people, Nina is sweet and affectionate, though she can be a bit barky with new faces. True to her German Shepherd nature, she bonds deeply with her person and is eager to learn, having already mastered several basic commands like sit, down, stay, head down, and heel. She’s smart and brimming with potential, just waiting for the right adopter to come along and help her shine. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
