Amyrlin
AvailableAmyrlin is a female medium-sized mixed breed (Husky/German Shepherd Dog) with a black and brown coat. She is currently in Chicago, IL, and is not yet house trained. Amyrlin has not been spayed and her vaccinations are not up to date. She is an adult dog looking for a safe and understanding home where she can truly begin to heal.
About Amyrlin
Amyrlin is still very much in the early days of recovery. She spends most of her time hiding out in her kennel, avoiding people and open spaces. Whatever happened to her before coming to the shelter left visible injuries on her side and face and took a toll on her spirit. Right now, Amyrlin seems lostâsheâs anxious, startled, and always ready to bolt for safety. Those rare moments when she accepts pets and affection are signs that the gentle dog underneath all that fear hasnât disappeared. She just needs time, patience, and a quiet home to let her guard down for good. Amyrlin cannot decompress in a kennel environmentâshe needs a home base where healing comes first, without demands or high expectations. If youâve got a soft spot for the overlooked, Amyrlin could use someone in her corner right now. Your new best friend is just one click away.

Questions about Amyrlin
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Amyrlin, as a Husky and German Shepherd Dog mix, will likely do best in a stable home with a patient owner, preferably one aligned with a quiet and structured environment to help her regain confidence.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Being part Husky and German Shepherd, Amyrlin would benefit from access to a secure outdoor area where she can eventually get comfortable moving around, although initially she'll need time indoors to decompress.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Amyrlinâs breeds are often great with children once properly socialized, but due to her current anxiety and fear, she will need a very calm homeâan adult-only situation or one with older kids may be best at first.
