Meet Lucy! Lucky miss Lucy was surrendered by a loving family with medical issues. Lucy is 11 years old and 5.5 pounds. Lucy adjusted quickly to her foster home and, unlike some Chihuahuas, she loves everyone she meets! She enjoys treats, sitting on laps, and lots of petting. She holds up one paw when she begs for treats! Your heart will melt when she smiles at you with her big brown eyes. She would love a family that is home some of the day because she enjoys snuggling a lot. Initially, Lucy was afraid of the other chihuahuas in the foster home because she was an only dog her entire life. She is slowly overcoming this fear and has made good progress in a short period of time. Now, If they get too close to her, she gives quiet little growls to ask them to back up. She definitely prefers the company of people over dogs. Lucy is house trained and has never had an accident indoors. She loves to explore the yard and go on occasional short walks. She keeps her kennel clean at night but would love to sleep in her new family's bed. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been fully vetted. She takes flea and heartworm preventatives. She is spayed and microchipped. Lucy has a dental appointment in May then she will be ready to join her new family. Lucy’s adoption donation is $250. Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative. Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.
