Meet NBA! This guy’s a slam dunk! NBA is a 9 year old male chihuahua weighing in at around 7 pounds, and he’s ready to be the superstar companion you’ve always wanted! NBA was rescued from a hoarding situation, but it is clear he was shown love before things got out of control. NBA has white/cream fur and the cutest perky little nose. If NBA was the MVP of one thing, it would be cuddling. His foster mom says he is the biggest cuddler on earth! This sweet boy just wants to be with his person and will follow them everywhere! He warms up to new people if given a little time or if he’s just plopped down on their arms. He will roll over for love and cuddle up as close to you as possible! NBA does well with other small dogs. He would do best in a home where either his people are home most of the time or where there is another dog to be his companion. He can absolutely be home alone, but he does get a little stressed if it’s all day/every day when he doesn’t have a friend to keep him company. NBA should go to a home with a fenced yard. NBA is still working on potty training. He happily goes potty in the backyard but struggles to do so if on a leash. He also has HORRIBLE aim when it comes to pee pads, so be prepared for a mess if you go that route. NBA is not the best eater, so food can be a challenge. He’s not a picky eater; he just tends to be much more interested in cuddling than eating! NBA has a grade 5 out of 6 heart murmur and due to this he is not medically cleared for a dental. To address dental concerns, he gets antibiotics one week out of each month. He is also on pimobendan and furosemide daily. NBA is neutered, fully vetted, and up to date on his vaccinations. He is heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm prevention. He is microchipped as well. NBA’s adoption donation is $300. Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative. Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.
