About Hickory
Hickory is a sturdy German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix born on November 1, 2021, which makes him a passionate Scorpio—no surprise, given his energy for training and play. Hickory lives with a variety of dogs, both big and small, and gets along well with dog-savvy cats too. He just completed Basic 1 Dog Training and knows a handful of commands like sit, down, stay, off, leave it, and wait. Sometimes he’ll still test his boundaries with chewing, but he responds quickly to redirection and is eager to please, especially when treats are involved. You’ll find Hickory is both potty and crate trained. He’s happiest when romping with other dogs of similar size, and at home with a canine playmate. In public, Hickory’s excitement shows—he can be a little vocal, so continued work on manners is a plus. He needs a secure 6-foot fence and a home where kids are at least 5 years old or older. Hickory thrives with people who aren’t gone long during the day and would do best in a household already blessed with another sociable dog. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
