About Chippey
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Good girl looking for her forever home! CHIPPEY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Chippey Best Guess for Breed: Lab and Terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years, 2 months as of April 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 37 lbs Gets Along With: Chippey has done well around other dogs, cats, and small kids. Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter - Chippey needs a foster or adopter to make her way to the DC area Special adoption considerations: Chippey is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Chippey is Looking For: This lovely gray cutie is around 37 pounds of easygoing charm and ready to find a place to call her own. Chippey has a friendly nature that makes her a wonderful companion for all kinds of households. She gets along well with kids, cats, and other dogs, making her a great fit for a home that already has a full crew—or one that’s just getting started. Chippey enjoys spending time with her people, whether that’s joining you for a walk, relaxing nearby, or simply being part of your day-to-day routine. She has a sweet, adaptable personality and seems to settle in nicely wherever she goes. If you’re looking for a well-rounded pup who can blend right into family life and bring a steady, loving presence, Chippey might just be the perfect match for you.
