About Laurel
This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Laurel's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Laurel, a 4-month-old Yellow Lab / Shepherd mix, weighing 25 pounds (as of 4/4/26). Laurel may also be a mix of many other fantastic breeds making her the Perfect American Mutt! She was previously a cast member on The Real Strays of Tennessee and is looking forward to upgrading to the Real House Dogs of New England (without all the drama!) Laurel is a pleasant young girl who's destined for the posh New England lifestyle! Since she's still learning about people and tends to be cautious, she'll need a wonderful family (or person) to help her decompress. Maybe you can bribe her with diamonds? Laurel's top priority is feeling safe so she hopes you'll be a willing bodyguard to help her out! She's lived with foster dogs of all ages and sizes and doesn't seem to mind children. She hasn't been exposed to cats yet, but feline friends are always welcome to an introduction. Preferably with lots of treats! Laurel hopes her future family will have patience since she's still practicing on leashes and will need to master potty training and commands. (They didn't have any of that on The Real Strays of Tennessee after all). But she has had experience with crates, so that's one thing going for her! Bring this adorable girl home today! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Laurel, you must fill out an adoption application. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
