About Peanut
Peanut is anything but small—he’s a tall, leggy, 65-lb spark plug of a Yellow Lab mix around a year or two old. With his big personality and bigger energy, he loves being outside and shines brightest in wide open spaces where he can sniff, run, and play. Peanut is well-socialized, happily befriending people, other dogs, and even farm animals like horses, goats, and pigs. Walks, car rides, and outdoor adventures are his jam, always ready without a moment’s hesitation. He’s a good leash walker and listens well, but his bouncy, mouthy puppy side still slips out, so ongoing training is a must. One training session is included in his adoption, with the option for more if needed. Despite his enthusiasm, Peanut has never shown aggression or reactivity—just genuine, oversized affection. He’s used to spending most days in kennels, so he’ll need to start in a smaller space in his new house to stay calm and adjust slowly. Free-range access can come with time. Peanut needs an adopter experienced with large breeds and a home with a big fenced yard for safe running. He gets along well with other dogs and savvy teens but isn’t suitable for homes with young kids, cats, or small animals. Peanut craves routine, exercise, and lots of love—a great fit for an active home ready to keep up and help him settle in. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
