Meet Skye! 💙 Skye is a beautiful 5-year-old shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a lifetime of love to give. She came to the New Hampshire SPCA under incredibly difficult circumstances-her devoted owner is currently battling stage 4 cancer and made the heartbreaking decision to find Skye a new home where she can continue to be loved and cared for. It's clear how deeply she was cherished, and we're committed to helping her next chapter be just as wonderful. According to her previous owner, Skye is a sweetheart who truly loves people and enjoys the company of other animals as well. She has lived with both dogs and cats and has even spent time playing with family members' dogs, where she tends to be excited but adorably submissive. She's a well-mannered housemate too-Skye is potty trained and will politely bark at the door when she needs to go outside. She's also crate trained and comfortable settling in her own space when needed. Skye enjoys the simple joys of life: a good chew toy, a spirited game of tug-of-war, and spending time with her people. She also has one especially charming quirk-she's been lovingly nicknamed "the rock hound" because she sometimes brings rocks inside from the yard like little treasures she's collected. And when she props her ears up just right, her owner says she looks just like Scooby-Doo, which perfectly captures her playful, lovable personality. Her previous owner shared one of our favorite descriptions of her: "She occasionally props her ears up and looks like Scooby Doo. She is very sweet and loves other dogs and humans." It's clear Skye has known love, and she's ready to share that same loyalty and sweetness with a new family.
