About Boone

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Boone is a 1-year-old, 60-pound neutered male German Shepherd Dog who is already housetrained and crate-trained—staying in his crate when left alone, but expected to do well loose as he matures. Boone has done wonderfully in a foster home, getting along well with men, women, and kids. While he respectfully stays off furniture, he loves to be close, often resting his head on a friendly lap for some snuggles. Boone will alert bark when someone visits but quickly settles down once they are inside. This sociable boy does well with other dogs and enjoys playtime with his foster siblings but is equally content as the only dog in a home. He cannot go to a home with cats. Boone enjoys having toys, although he needs strong, durable ones because he is a powerful chewer who can pull apart softer toys. Having grown up with limited experiences, Boone is still learning about the world. He sometimes gets nervous in unfamiliar situations and relies on his humans for guidance, but is gaining confidence every day. His leash skills are nearly mastered, and he is working on commands like heel and stay, in addition to already knowing sit, down, and come. Boone may occasionally get car sick if anxious; however, he has had several successful short trips. He would thrive with a family willing to continue his training and socialization, helping him grow into an even more amazing companion. Boone's gentle, loyal nature would make him a wonderful addition to an active and loving home. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
