About Dottie
Dottie is a small Dachshund and Pug mix, about ten months old and currently in foster care with her sister. She sports a glossy black coat, a white speckled chest, and a puppyâs zest for play. Dottie thrives on activityâshe loves to run, wrestle, and needs a playful canine companion at home. Sheâs already making great progress with house training, thanks to her foster's doggie door, and sleeps in her crate without fuss. Shy with new faces at first, she warms up quickly and is plenty affectionate once settled, eager to cuddle and offer kisses. Her ideal home has someone present during the dayâDottie wonât do well left alone while youâre gone all day. She needs a safe, fenced yard to run and explore, and a family ready to channel her energy. Someone who works from home or an active retiree under 65 would suit her temperament. Dottie isnât fully leash trained yet but catches on quickly and rides well in the car. Sheâs up to date on her vaccines, spayed, microchipped, heartworm-negative, and on preventative care. Adopters must come to North Carolina to meet herâshipping or transport isnât offered. Forever Home Canine Rescue provides a three-week trial and refundable adoption fee if things donât work out. Dottie is ready for a home where she can thrive and give back her love and loyalty. Click apply to start the adoption process.
