She’s calm, gentle, curious, and happiest just being near you on the couch, in the car (great car manners), or following you around the house to see what you’re up to. She really blossoms around other dogs—being part of a pack is all she’s ever known. She and her foster brother play daily, but never in a rough or chaotic way. Lucy came from a really tough situation—abandoned, underfed, and being attacked daily by the dogs she was left with. But even then, when her now-foster moms were feeding her through the gate, she was always sweet—wagging her tail, excited to see them, and honestly more hungry for love than food. She has great manners, learns quickly (sit, down, stay, wait!), and loves her foster dog brother while doing well with cats too. She’d thrive in a home with another dog, or be an incredibly loyal companion on her own. She can be super shy at first, which makes sense, but once she’s out of her shell, she is pure sunshine. Watching her finally decompress and settle into the life she deserves has been really special. She’s discovering how much she loves naps, snuggles, fetch, and walks—and will let you know with the happiest tail wags (and a smile). More than anything, Lucy just wants to belong. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport. *Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year. *Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption. *Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption. *All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
