Step right up, because Carnival is bringing the fun, the charm, and just a little bit of chaos— in the best possible way. This 10–12 month old, 11 lb CKC mix is basically a one-dog amusement park: equal parts cuddle booth, zoomie ride, and comedy act. And according to his foster: “I am always surprised how dogs end up in the shelter... but with Carnival I am astonished.” Seriously—no trauma, no baggage, no backstory drama. He arrived like a dog who has been loved, trained, and adored his whole life. We’re just as confused as you are. Daily Routine: The Carnival Schedule Carnival starts his day around 7am and— fair warning— this is not a “hit snooze” kind of dog. He wants to go out immediately. After a nice long morning walk, he’s ready for breakfast and then right into play mode. He’s happy to entertain himself briefly, but let’s be honest— you’re the main attraction. Evenings? That’s when Carnival really lives up to his name. After dinner and a walk, he enforces a strict “no work, only fun” policy. Attempt to open your laptop and you’ll be met with: Husky-style vocal protests Strategic theft of small items (hair ties, pencils...) Escalation to shoes if ignored He believes in work-life balance, and he will advocate for yours. At night, he settles in and recharges for the next day’s festivities. Personality: The Main Event Carnival didn’t “adjust” to his foster home— he arrived like he already lived there. He’s confident, social, and seamlessly fits into new environments like a seasoned traveler on tour. He’s: Extremely playful Affectionate and cuddly (yes, the cuddle booth is open) Independent enough to explore, but always checks back in He’s also started to show a mischievous streak—like turning fetch into a game of “you chase me now.” Character development! And let’s not forget: he is ridiculously cute and soft, and occasionally flashes what looks like an actual smile when getting pets. Social Skills: A Friendly (and Slightly Flirty) Performer Carnival loves people and remembers them quickly. One walk with a new friend, and suddenly they’re his VIP guest for the evening. He’s great with kids and would thrive in a home where he gets lots of interaction and playtime. Cats? If they sit still, he ignores them. If they run... well, the chase is on. Dogs? Are friends and playmates! He’d likely thrive in agility or any activity where he can run, jump, and show off. Leash & Training Here’s where Carnival really shines: Leash skills: Incredible. Loose leash, follows closely, even checks in with you Door manners: Understands “wait,” but excitement sometimes wins Trainability: Smart, but not food motivated—he’s more about toys and fun He’s one of those rare dogs who naturally just gets it on walks. Why Carnival? Because he’s that rare dog who somehow has: The personality of a lifelong family pet The manners of a well-raised pup The energy of a party that never ends He will absolutely make you laugh, keep you moving, and ensure you never feel bored (or overworked) again. A Favorite Story When the kids in his foster home came back from a trip, Carnival was SO excited to see them that he simply could not stop the party. Even after bedtime, he kept sneaking into their room with toys, trying to restart the fun. His foster spent over an hour chasing him back to bed while he repeatedly launched new “play attempts.” Not funny at the time. Very funny now. Peak Carnival behavior. Final Thoughts Carnival isn’t just a dog— he’s an experience. A whole event. A daily celebration of joy, chaos, and cuddles. If you’re ready to bring home a dog who will keep life exciting, keep you laughing, and maybe enforce a better work-life balance... Carnival is officially open for adoption.
