He’s an incredibly sweet senior who absolutely adores people and has shown he’s both dog friendly and cat friendly, making him a wonderful addition to almost any household. Though Bootleg is a medium to large hound mix, he firmly believes he’s a lapdog and delights in curling up for snuggles on the couch with his foster parents. True to his hound heritage, Bootleg manages to be a low-key companion—he tends to be a quiet presence, sharing the occasional endearing old-man groan during a big stretch. Bootleg enjoys lazy afternoons punctuated by slow strolls and thorough sniffing sessions in the yard, followed by lots of relaxing on the sofa. He’s car-savvy, crate trained, and house trained, making transitions into your home much easier. Bootleg arrived at his rescue underweight and heartworm positive, but he is making progress toward reaching a healthy weight and true wellness. He’s currently around 40 pounds and still wears his food motivation on his wagging tail—though he is working on improving his table manners! This gentle, easygoing boy is looking for a family who will spoil him with love and a cozy spot on the couch. If you’re seeking a mellow, loving companion, Bootleg could be the perfect match.
