About Honey

They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Honey is a beautiful 5-year-old Hound and Terrier mix girl who is under 50 pounds, completely housebroken, and crate trained. She currently enjoys sleeping in her dog bed right in her foster's bedroom and willingly goes to her crate if needed. Honey’s activity level is low to moderate; while she enjoys walks, she is best walked in quiet areas as she can be reactive to other dogs, making her best suited to an experienced dog owner. Her training is ongoing with a professional, and she has already learned many basic commands! Honey likes to alert her human to strangers and will bark, so she’s not a good fit for apartments or multifamily residences with shared walls. She thrives in homes where people are around most of the time, loving to cuddle and keep her humans company throughout the day. Honey's friendly-yet-cautious nature means that initial meetings go best with treats, and she blossoms once she trusts you, rolling over for belly rubs and offering her paw in affection. Older, respectful teens are ideal if there are children in the home. Honey should be the only dog in her household, though she would be fine with a cat sibling. She enjoys playtime with toys and adores human attention, making her a truly special companion. For adopters within an hour of Raleigh/Cary, NC, or a bit further for the perfect fit, Honey is ready for her loving forever home. Found as a stray and a devoted mom to ten puppies, now it’s her turn to find the comfort and joy she deserves. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
